Most people do not look any further then their job to provide them income. In fact there seems to be a lot of rumors out there that anything that doesn’t involve working 40 hours a week will not help you to get a decent income and is just a waste of time. Nothing can be further from the truth.
Looking for ways to invest your money or even to start your own business can be huge. It can be the key to reaching your financial goals. Here are three reasons to look for other sources of income outside of a job.
1. Not Dependent on one Income
Most people have heard the saying, “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”. Yet society teaches to do just that. Instead of looking for multiple sources of income, the rule of thumb is to simply get a high paying job and hope they do not fire you. If they do you are “up the creek without a paddle” because you have to get another job that pays at least what your last job did to meet your expenses. If you were a highly compensated employee this can be hard.
On the other hand if you had say, one or two thousand dollars coming from other sources every month the impact of losing your job would not be as devastating.
2. Quit Your Job
One other benefit of gaining extra passive is that it gives you the potential to quit your job and live off of that income. Wouldn’t it be nice to build a business and live off of that income while you travel the world and see everything you want to see? Compare this to the other alternative of never taking any chances and working in the same field every day for 40 or 50 years.
3. Much Higher Potential
There is only so much you can make from a job, and many of the high paying jobs out there require you to work 50+ hours a week. On the other side of the coin passive income does not limit you. You can make even more money on a private work at home business and have a lot more free time while doing it. That is just the nature of the game.
If your goal is to become wealthy and have the time and money to do what you want the only way to really get there is to create passive income streams, it is just that simple.
