Is now an excellent time to buy gold? Seriously, with the world in turmoil, Europe unraveling, and both the U. S. Federal Reserve and the Swiss National Bank both focusing on destroying their respective currencies, I find anytime to be an excellent time to buy gold.

While gold at $1800 per oz. is far higher price than just one or two months back, there are pros like Marc Faber who can make the case that, relative to the fiat currencies the world monetary system operates on, gold is still cheap up into the $2000 per ounce range.
According to many, gold is a manipulated market and that is one reason for its volatility. Because of this it can be really tough for the average investor to figure out when to buy gold and when to sit on the sidelines or even sell.
